Amnesia Haze Auto: Amnesia and Ruderalis Merge for a Fast-Growing Version of an Incredibly Popular Strain
Amnesia Haze, bred in the Netherlands in the 1990s by Hy-Pro Seeds under the name “Amnesia”, goes by many other monikers. Whether you know her as the original Amnesia, Amnesia Haze, Champagne Haze, The Bomb, Ultra Haze, or by another name entirely—one thing everyone can agree on is the sheer potency of this sativa-dominant strain.
The biggest downside of sativas like Amnesia is that they can take quite a while to flower. 11-12 weeks is the average, but some phenotypes have been known to take a whopping 20 weeks to finish bloom! This is simply too long for most home-growers. Furthermore, she can grow quite tall; this is another issue that indoor growers, in particular, aren’t able to accommodate.
In comes Amnesia Haze Automatic to solve these problems. Offering the same euphoric high and spicy, sweet taste as the original Amnesia, but with a much-reduced grow time and a smaller height, this auto strain can be grown by novice and experienced cultivators alike.
The biggest autoflowering strain?
Indoors, she will take around 80–85 days to mature from seed to bud. In this time, she can grow quite large for an auto, reaching heights between 50–100cm. This is a clear indication of her sativa genetics—tall plants, large, thin leaves, and long buds.
Much like the original Amnesia, Amnesia Haze Auto grows vigorously and offers generous yields of hazey, high-quality flowers. Producing up to 180g/plant outside and 400g/m² indoors, she is certainly on the more productive end of the spectrum for an auto. She likes to be fed well, but be careful not to overfeed her as Haze varieties are generally sensitive to nutrients.
Amnesia Haze Automatic’s long, foxtail-like buds waft an earthy and citrusy aroma that only improves once buds are cured. All in all, she has the classic Amnesia aroma, flavour, and effect, but is much more realistic to grow for the average home-cultivator.
